I've done a search but haven't found much on this.

I recently install an intercooler and as some of you may know when using the cross-over piping for the cooler you are left with a hole underneath the pod filter where the intake pipe used to be.

Well I'm planning to install a CAI box to sheild the heat and since the hole is directly underneath that box, would it be a good idea to run some plastic piping from the front bar to the pod? This flowing coldair directly into the pod.

The only thing I'm worried about is things like dirt and water coming through the pipe towards the pod.

Any ideas?

i did exactly that on mine, got some 3" flexible tube from the front bar mesh to the hole left by the old return pipe, with a fully enclosed box, the air rushes up to the filter, got 5rwkw gain on the dyno from that on a 28 degree day... considering it cost $100 for the actual box but $9 for the tubing, wasnt bad, plus with the box it gets rid of a defect for the pod...

ben...

its good to be a boilermaker ;)

Ill be making a CAI box at work outta some left ova alloy sheet weld her up and put maybe a perspex top and access part with a lil part goin down bottom of box to the CAI pipe ;) .. cost me 10 bucks for the tubeing if that ;)
