Clutch on r32

Im doing my clutch on the weekend, is there anything i should look out for while i have the gearbox out?

Check if the input shaft is seeping oil.

I would be inclined to replace the input shaft seal anyhow as it is only a couple of dollars ( from memory ) and no doubt will save you the stress of seeing oil drops under your car 6months to 1year down the track.

Look at the mess mine made.

It wasn't even dripping much oil. Only a small drop every blue moon or so.

When reinstalling the input shaft with its new input shaft seal, be sure to replace the shim that is located inbetween the cover and the layshaft bearings casing. Tip the gearbox back as you slide on the cover so it doesn't slip out.

The layshaft bearing is the bearing next to the input shaft. The inputshaft is obviously the big arsed shaft exiting the gearbox.

I've attached pics to help you know exactly what I am rambling on about.

see if the brake shops are open you might need to machine your flywheel dude

Well i did get my clutch in finally. I got from fro xtreme clutches in adelade. had a few problems at first with the wrong wrong clutch plate been sent to me, it wouldnt fit on the spline so i sent my old one down there and they matched it up. new clutch is very bitey indeed! Cant wait to take it to WSID and launch it for a 1/4!

with the input shaft seal.. can you do the bearing easy without taking the box apart??? mine makes some noise when in neutral and sometimes at low revs taking off from the lights. not cool.

did u have trouble aligning the clutch? or did u find it fairly straight forward?
