Using old oil??

hey just a question....everytime i change my oil theres always some left over, 1L or so left over. just want to know if its still ok to use the remaining oil in the next service change with the new stuff?? its been stored in a nice cool place in the garage so im thinkin its still alright to use.

it really depends how quickly you do your km's so ur next service comes up. prob not best if u leave it in ur garage for like a year or soemthing, but other then that if you seal it well and leave it in a 'cool dry' place, it should be fine.

on average its around about 4-5months that i hit 5k+ and change the oil but this ones come up alot quicker as ive been doin more k's than usual. im trying to reason with myself that its no different than oil that hasnt been sold at a store for 4 months??...lol i dunno. i bought some motul a month or so ago cause autobarn had 20%off and thats been sitting around too.

if its still good you can leave it i was told by the mechanic. its the wearing in the engine that makes the oil useless so if its still good as new not used its fine.
