Can't get HICAS into diag mode, what am i doing wrong ?

Okay,

I start the car (the engine starts)

turn the wheel left and right 5 times, to what i think is about 20 degrees.

i pump the brakes relatively slowly 5 times.

i then tap the brakes once more.

I put it in 1st, and idle forward 5+ metres (slowly)

my hicas light doesn't do anything.

(yes, it stays on for a few seconds while starting)

is there a definite knack to getting this procedure right ? a trial and error thing ?

and can someone define '20 degrees' more clearly ?

... i need to check if my speed sensor is working (the RSM doesnt give speed!!!)

also, does anyone have a clue WHERE this little speed sensor is, and how do i tell if it's disconnected/ been played with ?

with the 20 degrees thing dont worry about that just turn the wheel (fairly fast left then right 5 times) and pump the brakes fairly fast as well you dont have to do it slow...

thats my tip... if it doesnt work keep trying

remember turn the wheel fast pump the brakes fast.,,
