Hey everyone, just wanted to plug a local business in my area for going above and beyond the call of duty. I needed some prices on getting some braided lines made up to suit the new turbo. Not only did this guy go out if his way after business hours to come to my house to see what I needed, but he was also a couple of hundred dollars cheaper on the total job.

They are:

Bayside Hose and Fittings.

07 3286 9354. Located at Unit 1, 57-63 Shore Street Cleveland.

He has been in the industry for 20 years doing hoses and fittings. They can do anything from brake lines to fuel lines and much more.

This post is directed to praise any local businesses you may have had work done by or bought something from. Let everyone know who these businesses are, what services they provide and what you liked about them the most.

DJ Sivyer Mechanical 3290 2967 if you want to book something in tho, ring him about a week before, sometimes he gets rather booked up.

Pretty much the same as above, just went out of his way to help. Obviously he wont be able to do that for everyone but the point is, if he has too he can. Its not a flat no.

great stuff.. I actually need some lines fairly soon to hook my RB25 turbo up (for a stop-gap till I get a larger one). Think I will be giving them a call. Do they have a good knowledge of RB engines - e.g. can I just go "I want a water line for rb25 turbo onto rb20 block" and they'll know what to send me?

Well I have only just started dealing with him but I'm sure he would have no trouble. I wasn't sure what thread was on my GT25 oil supply line but he is going to try to find out.

You pretty much just have to tell him the width of the banjo fitting and give him the lines and he can modify your existing RB20 lines to suit the 25 turbo.

That's what I am getting done.

The oil supply banjo to the block is being removed and put onto a braided teflon flexible line and the two water lines are just being cut back about 15 cm and silver soldered teflon braided lines about 2 inches longer and putting on the 14mm banjo heads as opposed to the 17mm standard ones. This means I will be able to move the line easily into position without effort.

He really only services the bayside area but if you are willing to travel, he is a very helpful person.

mmm ..problem is that I need to do it in one day, car on the road the next, it's my only registered car atm. Some good lines allround could be worth it however, as I am starting to lean towards the highflow rb25 idea - then I only do things once.

anyhow, offtopic .. sorry!

Does he cut phat beats whilst he fixes your car? :)

LoL, kinda... for a work shop hes got the best radio set up I've ever seen!

Also for tiles, carpet, timber floors etc, go to Oztop Crn Compton Rd, and Allgas St.

Ask for me, I'll do what I can, but if you want cheap s hit tiles, dont bother, we just dont have them.

Just got my suspension done at Fulcrum Suspensions STAFFORD.

I also bought all the bushes from them as well. Even some bushes I didn't need cause I had fully adjustable pillowball type arms in.

They were more then happy taking them back

I can tell you that these guys are real professional's - very happy!!!!

I gave them all the settings for alignment front and rear - caster, camber, toe in - etc

When I got the car back, all I can say is perfect!!! Dead straight steering wheel and car goes straight, not like some of the alignments I got done before.

Also got a full report with all the setting on a print out.

Barry was the guy I dealt with there and you couldn't ask for better advice or service.

My local exhaust shop guy is a bloody legend. Check out Vaughn over at MUFFLERPRO Seventeen Mile Rocks (Western Suburbs).. this guy runs a very honest and friendly operation.

The crew down there are heros and deserve trophies some of the stuff they have acheived :(

These guys charge very very reasonably for the work they do as well, and your more than welcome to come in and have a look under the hoist and see whats going on.. theres no attitude problems about having a look at whats going on in the workshop.

    • I’m doing some side developments on SR20det S13 engines, its one my hobby cars used it to compare flow capacity of some smaller size wheels. SR20det is one of another JDM legendary engines I'm sure there are plenty of SR enthusiasts on this forum, I will share results some common turbo configurations here. a quick run down of what the car is: Wide body 180sx Type X with black top engine (blue). It has: Stock bottom end Haltech 1500 ECU 5-0 motorsports trigger kit Kelford SR20DET Beehive Spring with Titanium Retainers Kelford Cams SR20DET S13 188-B 268/272 Cams G25-660 Turbocharger in T2 .64 rear housing internally gated ARP Head studs MLS head gasket 1000CC ID injectors Walbro 450L Fuel pump Front mount cooler kit JJR’s 3 inches turbo back exhaust (its too short for the 180sx it had to be extended) Pump 98 fuel Hub Dyno tune So far made 270rwkws at 22psi full boost by 4500RPM. Engine is very knock limited hence a pretty bad looking top end. From previous experiences it seems like SR20dets are happier with bigger size turbine, some thing like a GT30 would make way better top end, but on same time response is lost. It won't be a problem with S15 VCT engines. I'll be testing alternative turbine housing, turbine wheel and possibly dump pipe options for extra flow to resolve the problem and of course E85 would resolve all the issues.
    • Awesome writeup and details. Thanks for sharing the story so far. I can relate to parts of it with my previous car and some of the issues I had to deal with.
    • Wow the colour matched hard top completely transforms the car. Are there any nice front lip options for the car or is that off the table?
    • Generally yes but for some reason I've been ruthless this time around!  I might even need to do another tip run after the way I've finally been able to hit the delete button on shit I've stepped over, stepped around and tripped over for the past 10 years!
