RB25/26 cam belt compatability and cam/crank timing question

Guys will a 26det cam belt fit a 25det?

also, i need to double check that the cams and crank are at tdc. crank is easy, but how can i do the cams. i can pull the cam covers off easily if there are marks on the cams in there, the cam belt is off, and the motor is out of the car. Ive been wondering why this bloody gates belt didnt want to go on and the people have supplied me with a 26det item, could be cams out of phase with crank or wrong belt (or maybe even both).

RB26/25/20 all use the same cam belt.

Each cam sprocket (gear) has a small impression or 'dot' adjacent to one tooth on the outer rim, plus the cam cover back plate (black pressed metal plate behind the cam gears) has 2 white marks (sort of) near the top bolts - there's one mark for the ex cam and one for the inlet. You may need to clean it to see them, they can be a bit faint. It's just a matter of lining the 'dot' on each of the in/ex cam sprockets with the adjacent white mark and the cams are in their correct position. #1 piston must be at TDC.

# 1 at TDC is defined by the yellow mark on the harmonic balancer which is preceded by several white marks in a clockwise direction (to enable timing for advance position). If the balancer is off then there is a dot on the cam belt drive gear that aligns with a V notch in the lower shroud cast into the oil pump housing.
