Car is an s14 Silvia with an rb20det conversion. There was no room for the factory fan that came with the RB so i fit two electric fans instead. One is on the left side of the radiator between in motor and radiator (pulling) and the other is mounted on the right side and between the big FMIC and the radiator (pushing-there was no room on the other side). The fans seem to be doing a good job. The motor seems to be getting plenty of air from the fans and a friend with an RB20 in a 180sx commented that my setup seems to be more effective than his, but he has absolutely no overheating problems. Me on the otherhand cant drive for more than 15mins at a time without pulling over for a while with the bonnet open and fans still running. The surprising thing is that I drove for 20 mins yeserday (hard driving) and it didnt overheat. I had to pull over 5 times within a couple hours of driving today. I have removed the thermostat and that didnt help. The waterpump seems to be working fine as the water in the radiator flows nicely when the engine is running. What could be the cause of this frustrating ****ing problem? I want to enjoy the damn car already after $4k spent on the conversion and almost half a year with the car off the road. :P

edit: Radiator is a two core rb20det radiator, not a non turbo one or anything like that.......

i have a rb20 180sx with the ca radiator and one thermo! Even so the only time i have water temp probs is when on a race track (or strapping for long periods). I am putting in a gtr radiator and another thermo and fit some sheet aluminium across the top and maybe elsewhere to make sure air goes where it should.

Maybe you got an aftermarket front bar thats not kind on airflow?

not long after the conversion i found the water pump to be corroded and screwed up which almost cooked her, making the whole cooling system browny and clogged.

just some ideas
