overheating

hey guys i need help..........

i have had a front mount installed recently and since then i have had over heating problems....

the radiator was cleaned out the other day (was 80% blocked) and the thermostat has been changed yet still it heats up...............

tends to only get hot after around 30-40min and worse when going up long hills............

any help or ideas would be appreciated guys thanks

is the cooler in front of the radiator,maybe that not enough air is gettting to radiator???

When you say radiator was cleaned out; how? Full tank off service or just a flush?

If just a flush you could dislodged some stuff and blocked a few tubes which doesn't matter too much for general driving but might after a while.

How hot does it get? Are you running thermo fans? Have you still got the undertray thingy fitted?

what radiator do you have, standard CA or R32 one? CA one is too small for rb20

If the radiator has just been flushed and there are no issues with fluid leaks. then it is possible that due to the intercooler taking the majority of the coldest air the radiator is no longer getting sufficient airflow. Actually not really airflow just that the air it is now receiving will be hotter as the intercooler has first dibs on the coolest air. A bigger radiator could solve this problem.

it has a 32gtst radiator in there

radiator was taken out and serviced. and thermostat was replaced.

if a bigger radiator is now needed would the 32gtr radiator be bigger and go straight in ?

do you still have the fan shroud in place? wiithout it people have problems.

no the standard fan wouldnt fit in the engine

like others have said, it wud be ur front mount - since that is what u installed prior to overheating...

-u cud try adding spacers to the bonnet to lift it up slightly for better flow through the engine

-bonnet vents

-bigger radiator

-a non-restrictive front grill and/or front bar (vents and holes etc)

-more fans

-better coolant.
