Come to QLD :P depends what car it is, but all the R33 I've known of recently have sold within a month.. at what I would say a good price (around 20k or +)

I kind of had thoughts of whether to sell the R33 in melbourne, or wait until I moved up and sell here. The decision to sell here paid off and I got a great price for the old car in a fairly short amount of time.

Personally I'd say VIC is a bad market to sell an import, as the "fad" has dried up a bit down there, from what I can see.. whereas QLD and NSW it's still going strong.

NSW is apparently easier to get a roadworthy (pink slip?) for when you transfer ownership than Vic, so it may be more desirable to sell a modified car up there?

Because down here you either have to sell it unroadworthy or do a dodgy.

When i get my carbon bonnet on and new bar painted im going to try and sell my thing.

The only reason im not OS behaving badly is beacuse the car, and the only reason i need to work is so that i can sustain the spend on the car:( So after 5 years its now time ot move on:(

Back to the original plan of trying ot get some contract work in the UK:cheers:

Because in 2 months time i wast to be on a beach in Biarritz. If i cant find an owner that wants the car in its current guise then i may garage it. And if things go to plan wont be back in OZ for about 18-24 months:)

I dont want to strip it for parts, i want to see someone else enjoy the car as i have, especialy after all the money i have spent on it.

The original plan was to take the car with me, and track it around tracks in England, France, Belgium etc etc, but the huge coinage the car cost me last year means that i have to really sell the car if i have any hope of going OS and getting a job. I can afford a holiday, but cant afford the costs of relocating to look for work.

I had all but given up going OS and was going to spend the last of my money on the Dutton....but i need another tour OS:thumbsup:

Ill be the European correspodant for SAU, lol, ill even take the Hertz 3 Series BMW race cars to the tracks i was hoping on taking my car to:)

nooo...

at least strip it for parts so they can go to new homes that will appreciate the tasty bits, not some kid who could run it into the nearest pole at any opportunity :D

You shouldn't have too much trouble selling the R32, there is a bit of a shortage of them I reckon (hence the higher than expected pricings lately), even with the 15 year cars, and not everybody still wants an R33..

Hi Roy,

Don't sell in melbourne. My reasoning is, my friend is selling his 1994 R33 Skyline which is quite modified (performance wise) with 18s, very nice car... would probably run a HIGH 12 if it had some decent fuel in it and some more boost, and he cant sell it... and hes asking for a pretty cheap price... $16,000, hes going to lower it to $15,000 soon and it has been for sale for over a month.

Another friend sold his R32 finally, very clean and stock example but it took about 3-4months to sell it and it was priced at like $12,000-$13,000.

Depends on where u advertise it... but yeah... this aint the place compared to some other states.

-Liam.

    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
    • yeah, there's a country that recently started importing Skylines, I blame them.
