Hi guys. My car didnt miss before. However after I took the coils and plugs out to check the compression of the motor I have been experiencing misfires under high load and higher boost. The original coilpacks had been put in by the previous owner incorrectly, i.e. not sitting correctly and out of align. They had been heated up and cooled down millions of times and wouldnt go basck to original shape.

I have changed the suspect coil packs(not just insulation incase the missing had damaged the coils) and i still get the missing although it is less servere.

I will take the plugs out later in the week and see if it stops it. However if it still misses does any1 have any ideas or has any1 experienced the same problem??

Thanks in advance guys

hey matt, my car has just started doing the same thing, i am quite sure it is the insulation on a coil.

take the cover off, go to a dark place and rev the engine, and you will be able to see the coil that is arcing, cover the coil in some type of sealant (araldite..) and they should be better, i will be having a look at mine soon.

I did regap them when i changed them. I will try to fix them up tomorrow and see if it fixes it.

I bought new coils and insulation as I thought this was the problem. It didn't fix the problem but fixing it didn't hurt:)

thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
