what to lookout for when buyin an import

Thinking of getting my first import and it will be a fairly cheap one too ($15000-$18000). I don't want to get it home just to spend more money fixing it when it breaks down, so i was wondering what you think i should watch out for.

Any help would be great

cheap imports and no problems very rarely go hand in hand. Their was a thread posted a while ago. Try doing a search also as it has been covered a bit
