RB26 sounds wierd.

hey peeps today my car started to make this wierd tapping noise...from the top of the block.

it sounds liek the valves are hitting the camshafts like really strongly.

i dunno what's going on..

car idles well smotthly i dont feel any lose of power but the car is too noisy..

what can it be?

plz help.

ok just found out my exhast camshaft timings way off

how can i put it back on the right timing?

If the car still runs ok it means the valves haven't hit the pistons. What it does mean is you have some incorrect tappet clearances. check them all asap before you rip a valve in half. If they are std cams and gears line the marks up to get back to std timings! Or take it to a mechanic to get the cam timing sorted.

BTW- GTRs always sound weird! in a good way...

ok car died today

sounds like relaly bad..

metal hitting noise..

car refuses to spark up now

it cranks but nothing after that.

intereesting i had the same noise but i have been driving it for about 10.000k's and still no prob yet, i am getting a new head for it

obviously back to the engine rebuilder.... i cant believe you continued to drive it while it made this horrid noise.... hopefully it aint to much :)
