Your always working dude! :) which isn't entirely a bad thing but work work work work and no play.............. makes silver arrows a dull boy??

Well, have to work to get $$$ so I can play hard!!!! :(

I work in computer operations and it's roational shift work. Sometimes I have to work weekends which sucks ass! But I get the weekdays off and get heaps of things done then. Just right now I'm working weekends, but it'll change in two weeks.

Parents also own a bakery. It's next to minto go-karts. Can't say no working there.

Okay guys, so far what i can establish is that we are going to have to look at doing it early Jan...........!!!!????? This is the soonest i can really get it organised for! Now what it is up to is everyone to state a date/day that is best for them, then we can see what dates are most popular and go from there!!!

So Andrew stop your biatching:uh-huh: it will get done!!!:( Just need a general consenses from everyone!!! I could be selfish and go ahead and just organise it on a date that suits me, but im sure it wont be convienient for heaps of others!! So pplz put it ur vote for a date and we will see what comes in as the best option!!

Also we can't book it until basically we have a decent deposit together.......they said that they need it to make sure they dont close the track to the public and we dont turn up!! My theory is that i will give out my bank account details and get pplz to deposit the established amount into it, then i will just pay the deposit on the credit card!? Seems the only easy way......... although for the pplz that i see regularly i can get the cash!!!

Alright so if you guys have any ideas or queries let us know.

Cheers Ando

How does Sunday the 05/01/03 sound?

Can we do weekends Ando or is it a weekday deal?

If it's OK with you Joe, we may make this a Club event and (so you'll ALL have to join mwuah-hah-hahh) then we can use the Club Bank account. See if we can do trophies etc. as well.

I went up to butterfly farm a few months back on a week night, he opened it for us because we had 12 people.

Its a good little track, the cars could be better but for a hour of racing at 100 bucks its well worth it.

Just a thought..

I should be in as long as its not the first weekend of jan.

that place is pretty cool but u really gotta choose ur kart wisely otherwise u'll be getting lapped on lap3.

After having a corporate day there i nearly bought a Kart myself - 1 month later i had a Skyline sitting in my driveway :D

BTW i am getting the "Corporate Pack" details sent to me in the next couple of days!!!!! So i will be able to inform you guys of the prices, and what u get for your money!!! I know 1 thing though i doubt we will be doing the all-day thing as thaht costs around $300

I will basically be trying to get the best deal possible for around the $120-$140 mark??!!!!!:uh-huh: This okay!!!!

Then once the "pack" is determined i will have to get a date for this! I will find out if they are shut at any point!

Neways CATCH YAS

Ando

Alright guys i have all the package details infront of me now and basically after looking through it i think i have come up with the best deal! This is a rough start as i need to "haggle" a little with it to try and get it a little cheaper and get a lunch thrown in!

Okay firstly i am looking at doing the Mini Grand Prix which accomodates a max of 20 pplz (20 is the most you can have in 1 outing). The Itinerary is as follows :

- Official welcome & registration

- Driver Training & Safety Breifing

- Warm Up

- Heat One & Heat Two

- Heat Three & Heat Four

- Grand Final

- Runs for Approximatly 3 hours

Now costing is the issue here, as most ppl have put forward a large interest in doing this on a w/end, it will cost more than a week day!!!!!!!

Costing:

$175 per person : Monday - Friday up to 4pm

$195 per person : Friday from 4pm - Sunday

What i am trying to organise, is for them to throw in a sausage sizzle which is $14 extra per person.....and maybe knock a bit off the price ( but no promises what i can do )!!!!!!

Now what it comes down to is whether we HAVE to organise this for a weekend OR are you guys able to get a weekday off and save a bit of money!

Also as i mentioned above, it is a MAX OF 20 PPLZ, so you need to get in quick and say that you are in FOR SURE!!!!!!

So make it known now, that u are in 100% and we will see whether we can organise for a weekday or stick with w/end!!!

Over to you guys start posting and i'll start making a list of ppl that ARE COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Ando

B.T.W As for dates the 18th of Jan looks like the most popular so far......but as i said its cheaper for weekdays, but if pplz are happy to paythe little extra thats kewl!!! SO 18TH GOOD?????

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
    • But I think you missed mine.. there is also nothing about the 98 spec that supports your claim..  according to the fuel standards, it can be identical to 95, just very slightly higher octane number. But the ulp vs pulp fuel regulations go show 95 (or 98), is not just 91 with some additives. any claim of ‘refined by the better refineries’ or ‘higher quality fuel’ is just hearsay.  I have never seen anything to back up such claims other than ‘my mate used to work for a fuel station’, or ‘drove a fuel delivery truck’, or ‘my mechanic says’.. the actual energy densities do slightly vary between the 3 grades of fuel, but the difference is very minor. That said, I am very happy to be proven wrong if anyone has some hard evidence..
