i use a Alpine 9835 im might happy with it, used to own a Clarion DXZ835MP top end HU a year back sound quality was great not much to play with EQ's etc, alloy face which is what alpine lacks but i had a problem with all the 4 of them (warranty) which was they made a static noise like a pop, i think it was when the CD had lil scratches on it.. which was a shame, apart fromt that i would have kept it

anyway im using a 9835 and couldnt be happyier, iv used a entry level Pioneer 5650 or somthin like that couple of years back was excellent bang for buck,

I would go the Alpine personally !

go for a pioneer 8650 you can get one on ebay off one of the stores for around 600 delivered (thats around a 60% saving)

ive got one and i think that it is the best purchase i ever made

sq is sweet and its will match the a'pexi safc nws plus you can customise it with your own backgrounds and stuff

go to this link and check it out man

That's fine, Let them disagree.. anyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am speaking from my experience, the high end Alpine models are great SQ units.. in comparison to every system I've seen/heard running off a pioneer head unit.

:headspin:

clarion are actually regarded by many as the best for sq these days tho antthing 750 and 1000 dollars will give you excellent sound quality provided you dont use mp3 audio or any other compressed format

Got an Alpine 9815, and was told it was better than the newer Alpine 9835, not sure why though. Has many great features like time alignment, 5 Band EQ, Active X-Over, 3 x 4v pre-out. Also has the remote, plus it can control the face of the unit and make it go up and down, for those whol like that sort of thing :D. Got it for $699 before the 9835 came out..

I have an Alpine IVA-D300e, its a touch screen that touches you back, and the only product on the high end of the market that has that feature. Its the first touch screen i've ever heard of that you can feel the button pressing in on the lcd panel. Its amazing and its in my car!

I have been told that Alpine are like the Mercedes of head decks. I am confused why you would compare a relatively cheap-but-good-value brand like Pioneer with the likes of Alpine..?

I have heard from a few people that Alpine have a 1 kilometer indoor testing track in their facility that simulates all road conditions so when doing R&D they can make sure the unit doesnt vibrate etc. (Like i've heard some pioneers and sony head decks do in other peoples cars)

I remember talking to a sales agent who said that Alpine are the only car audio company that has a room that can simulate 10,000 hours of sunlight. :P

The other thing to remember is that Alpine specialise in car Audio and do nothing but car audio. Companies like Pioneer, Sony etc, car audio represents less than 5% of their income.

Just a thought..

true for Sony but not for Pioneer.

i'd go either ALPINE or PIONEER, both are good brands, have a few friends in the car audio biz and they say both are good, Kenwood also for mid range pricing.

Sony has gotten better but still isn't anywhere near the best.
