Hey,

I have done a search of the forum but nothing has come up on these issues.

(p.s correct me if i am wrong - i think it is a C210  )

Over heating

For as long as i can remember my car over heats in summer. Like i cant take it threw drive thru or anything and i avoid traffic lights as at the stand still the temp just starts to creep up. I have had the radiatior checked about 10 times now and they cant find what is making it do it. But its encredably frustrating, so much i try not to drive it during the day in summer.

Fuel Problems

Well i think its fuel problems....As of late every now and then when i go to take off it seems as though i have left it in like 3rd or 5th - when its in 1st. It will chug and go to stall and sometimes not doing anything at all. I give her alittle bit more gas, but always my luck she takes off spinning wheels - just waiting to get pulled over by the cops... But i have a full tank of fuel, been running unleaded in her cause they arent selling leaded many places around here anymore. Using that Valve master stuff though.

Any advice on either would be great... I have a few other problems that would be great if i could get some help with as well too - but ill wait and see if anyone can help me with these first... :P

Thanks in advance for the help

Bek

Have a look to see if it has a thermostat....also is the fan on the engine a clutch type or the fixed type...i dont remember what mine was, its got twin thermos now...if its a clutch type fan it could be stuffed. You could try running a little less timing...like 1 or two degs no more....

the fuel thing...

could be a blocked fuel filter or possibly just some dirt in the carby.. id try the filter first.

also could be a dodgy accelerator pump in the carb.....i could probably fix it in 1/2 hour, if i had it in front of me, but i dont, and its abit difficult to diagnose on the net...but i hope this helps.

Good to see another C210 coupe ;o)

:P :burnout:

Car just came back from the service. The mechanic said that the 'fuel problem' was actually a kinked coil lead. But didnt fix it, waiting for approval from the paying party... (i dont pay for the car - or its services) :D

Is this bad... ? And why did it happen.

obvious question but did they do a radiator flush?there might be rust/crud in it and is the original fan shroud still there (the big black bit of plastic that attaches to the radiator, with the hole in it for the fan)

Yeah they have done that a few times now... It even started to get hot today and it isnt even cold... :) Silly thing. Oh well ill just get a new engine and new radiator to match - all problems sloved :)

Not really sure why your mechanic said that! Sounds like he is suggesting that you can shut off the spark by crimping the coil lead (just like shutting off water by crimping a hose). HUH??

Some things to try:

Check cam timing (engines tend to run hotter if cam retarded).

Check ignition timing - although mechanic should have done that.

Check vac advance mechanism in dizzy - although mechanic should have done that.

Overhaul the dizzy.

Overhaul the carby.

None of the water hoses have been bypassed or blocked off?

Try some Nulon "Total Fuel System Cleaner" in the fuel tank.

No the over heating is unrelated

Yeah i have a feeling that he was just making crap up to push me off - cause he wouldnt explain it when i asked (see the draw backs of being a girl - he said i wouldnt understand).

there is talks of me getting a 88 prelude for my 21st in 2 weeks, so the skyline might go back to dad and these problems can be his again...

nooooooooooo...the prelude is an old peoples car, give it to ur dad....keep the skyline...the skyline......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......the skyline.......
