REWARD $10000. 4xR32 GTR's MISSING OVER THE LONG WEEKEND.

Recommended Posts

When I read the title of this thread 6 GTR's stolen I thought damn I feel sorry for those 6 guys. Now actually reading the thread I'm amazed that all 6 were owned by the same guy and stolen at once. How many black cats have you run over? I am equally amazed that through your incredible persistence you have recovered 5/6. Good work its a pity you haven't caught one of these lowlife thieving scumbags.

What I would be chasing up is the annonymous caller. Did the police check your phone records to see what number and where the call came from. Surely they could get a record of numbers that rang your phone. Was it a mobile phone at all because they could triangulate the position next time this guy has his phone on. How could this guy get your number other than here did you advertise this anywhere else? If he saw it here why didn't he ask for the reward money? Did they check the blocks of flats that they were found at maybe they live there or at least very close by. I also can't believe they didn't steak out at least one of the found cars to try and catch one of these scumbags which may have lead you to finding all your cars.

This story totally puts me off from ever importing a car, I don't think I would be able to sleep with an uninsured pride and joy in the "so called" care of someone else for what 3 days or so. My hair would turn grey or fall out and I would probably die from a heart attack before I even got to drive it if at all.

I am equally amazed that these cars haven't either been burntout, stripped, thrashed to death or rapped around a telegraph pole which happens to most stolen cars. My brothers car got stolen and we searched for hours for it and finally found it a few km's from home burnt to a crisp and all the good bits stripped. They stole it from our driveway while we were all alseep sometime in the early hours of the morning.

I feel for ya bud, I wish you all the best, keep persistent like you have been and I hope you find your remaining car asap. Sounds like there are a helluva lot of people keeping an eye out for you. I'm sure it will turn up soon.

Cheers

were all 5 GTR's found in Sydney? the chances of the last one still being in Sydney is very slim, the theif has probably taken it interstate and could be stripped now for all we know. Sorry for ur loss dude, atleast u found 5/6. hope u still find the last one

    • Hi all. So I have my GTR on the lift and have been working on it a few days and today I unpacked the frontpipe that was wrapped with heat wrap stuff, because part of it was breaking down and soaked in oil. Noticed that the pipe itself does not actually look like a Mines, despite it supposedly being a Mines. But I could not find any fronpipe online that looks exacly like his, and I don't think it is a custom one. My amateur measurement also showed the two pipes are about equal length, so maybe this is just an old version of the Mines pipe? Would appreciate insight on this by the enlightened folks. greetings from Germany
    • Yeah. If I plug the connector in and connect the vacuum lines, I assume worse case scenario is that it simply doesn't work? Yep PFC.
    • I would think that rather than attempting to perform an engine swap, with all the difficulties associated with doing so in a country where the raw materials required are harder to get hold of, I would just build the CA20 for boost, find an EFI manifold for it and either add a turbo or a supercharger. Or both. You replace one set of difficulties with a different set, but I know which would be more fun.
    • Well, a proper aftermarket ECU** SHOULD be set up to run the purge solenoid, same as the factory ECU would, so that the tank breather system continues to operate the way it is supposed to. I have no knowledge of whether the PFC (which is what I assume you mean when you say Apexi) has an output (and internal logic) to run the purge solenoid. If it does not, then given the product design intent for the PFC, which is to be a plug in replacement for the stock ECU, I would consider that a massive failing on Apexi's behalf and would be another reason to think that they were a half-arsed solution to the problem if programmable management on RBs. I would suggest that since Nistune came to market (which is a LOOOOONG time ago now) there has been no valid argument for choosing a PFC, especially if the PFC can't do things like this.   **ie, Haltach, Link, Motec, etc
    • Thanks for asking the question we were all thinking!
