^^^ Hmmm, common opinion has it in Japan that an 8.5 inch wide rim is the widest you can put on... but I've got 9 inch wide rims. The 9" rims are sticking outside the guards maybe 5mm with a +32 offset.

If you have a +38 with a 9.5" rim, I still think the rim will jut outside the guards a little (thats illegal in AU right?). Offset is the key here, but I think one of the members on here fitted 10" rims to his R32? Mind you, they are visibly too wide for the car and he had a big positive offset like you, so I guess if you want to take your chances with the police, then just fit them. I don't think you'll have any problems without rolling the guards... unless of course you want to slam your car 3 inches.

No it wont fit under, i have 9" +38 wheels on the back of mine and with 235/45/17 tyres streched on, they only just fit under the guards. My car is lowered with stiff suspension and there is about 10mm gap between the tyres and the guards at the rear. They never rub, but if my suspension moved more than about 2cm they would rub.

Never had any problem with police, but my wheels dont stick out from the guards, they just dont fit UNDER them. ;-)

RowdyR32 has 9.5" +38 rims on a R32 GTST, they fit without rubbing, but they do stick out a bit.

It's not an ideal situation but it works, it's always best to trial fit these things if you can, but I'm guessing that's not an option.
