RB gearbox questions

i took my gearbox out on the weekend, when i bought the car i was told it was definatelly an RB25 gearbox. it seemed fairly light taking it out which made me ponder a bit...

before i took it out it clunked into 4th.

the number on the box was off the top of my head ####71C

its mounted further back about 2 inches but the shifter still comes through the hole ok.

im guessing its an RB20 box???

With 71C on the side it's definately not an RB25DET gearbox.....but it could be from an RB25DE, which is physically the same size as an RB20DET gearbox (and RB30E for that matter).

the 25 box is heavy... you need two people to lift it.

The RB20 box is piss light.
