Can someone help me. I dont really know whats wrong with my R32 Gts-t.

I was just driving today and as i was accelerating the car was just revving in gear, as if it was in neutral. This is what i suspect it might be:

- The clutch, it smells like something is burning.

- I was suspecting it may be the gearbox fluid straight after its service.

I can drive the car but it accelerates so slow, as if its not in gear. It happened tonight and i had just got it serviced today at repco. it was driving fine until tonight. Also the HICAS light comes up when driving sometimes, does it have something to do with it?

Please someone help.

Cheers

clutch? gears?

u will have to be more specific with the detail.

Im sorry hey, i dont really know much about cars. But all I know is that its like the car is not getting into gear properly. So basically when I try to try it moves very slowly and you car hear the car revving and getting no where.

I hope its not something big. Would this happen if the gearbox oil was low?

Cheers

ok, thanks 34mspec. got it at the mechanics the other day and he reckons the clutch has been burnt out...which explains the smell.

So yeah he is going to give me prices on clutches available; standard, heavy duty or racing. Would anyone out there know a rough cost on these clutches?

Also do you think that the previous owner of the car may have been thrashing the skyline, hence a burnt out clutch? Or because being a 15 yr old car & turbo it would be due for a new one. I have only owned it for a month and havent really thrashed it nor do i plan to.

Cheers

Mine is starting to do this aswell, but only under heavy load (like when accelerating from 70-100km/h on the fwy). I think ill just try to get away with it for a while longer until i can afford a new clutch.

For your info my car has never had any boost increase, so im pretty sure its just the 15 year old clutch (at least in my case)

I had to refit my stock clutch this weekend as the diaphram on my twin plate snapped in half, and it is very happy holding 200rwkw. This is a 140 000km old clutch too by the way, with original plate and no machining.

I am picking up a new xtreme 1060 pressure plate and 9(?) puck plate for 750 bucks as the twin needs a full rebuild due to the buggered diaphram and worn plates ($1200) and i am a bit sick of it for daily driving.

If money is a bit tight you can have your stock pressure plate recoed with a heavier diaphram and a button clutch for less than 350 bucks if you look around. But the you have to rip out the box to replace it :P
