compression test

Hi Guys, just wondering how i go about a compression test on a r33 gtst. I have the tool but need to know what the compression on each cylinder is and if there are any tricks in regards to getting the reading. THanks people.

not sure what the reading is 'supposed' to be ... but i think if they're all pretty even then you're ok.

doing it is easy ... just take the plug out, put in the meter and turn the engine over a couple of times. note down the reading and do it again to be sure.

oh and dont forget to unplug the valley loom to the coil packs so that the engine doesnt actually fire

Something like - as long as theyre within 5% of each other, then as far as the compression test is concerned, the engine is in good order.

Remove all your spark plugs, screw the tool in, and crank the engine.

Measure the maximum reading on the tool, and move to the next spark plug well

Also have the throttle wide open, doesn't really matter if you don't, but the numbers will be lower
