what I really want to know is do the compliance workshops write up the certificate based on the work theyve done, or based on the whole car, ie can they refuse to issure a certificate based on defectable modifications that are on the car?

my car has a fullcage but I was planning on getting it complied and registered with no cage as a 4seater then putting the back half of the cage back in and driving it as a 2 seater, except the cage is jap so its not too legal.

problem is that back half of the cage is welded in, so its abit hard for me to take out.

Im thinking I could get it complied as a 2 seater (put a fixture in the back) but as the cage is not legal im wondering weather the compliance place will refuse to do it.

so can they just write up a certificate without the cage listed (as if its not there)?
