Richo
Anyone gone for the DSBHD instead of DCBHD? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/69220-xtreme-hd-ceramic-clutch-experiences/page/3/#findComment-1326012 Share on other sites
croat
personally from my own experience i would not go these clutches. I bought one made up like that and am only making 250rwkw and a new flywheel, only to find that the clutch blew totally after 2 months... Best bet is to go for a twin plate set-up in case u want to go further or want to race it on the track and the strip... Chris32
Everyone drives differant, so its hard to gauge how a clutch will hold up, doesnt matter which brand I have a extreme, the heavy duty one, and mine has been on there now for almost 3 1/2 years, done 62,000kms and still grips like all hell, I would definatley get one of these again. Mine is also running with a cromoly 4.5kg flywheel, installed the same time. All those kms where done making around 200rwkw too Dunno what you guys are worried about, just put it in and enjoy! BHDave
Why are all these cars off the road? Clutch swap is only a 4 hour job at worst. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/69220-xtreme-hd-ceramic-clutch-experiences/page/3/#findComment-1328933 Share on other sites
Timd
mines off the road for a motor rebuild and some other work. Was meant to be on the road by now, but the run around engine i bought turned out to have water damaged bores. moral of that story is cheap engines are often cheap for a reason. Richo
has anyone tried the Xtreme DSBHD with the 5 puk design? Im seriously thinking in this one but the mechanic says is shudders and is a bitch in traffic. But i want something with minimal slipage and that can stand a bit ......well more than a bit....of thrashing every now and then. WHat do you guys think, Anyone? Dumhed still booked in? If it's still off the road in a couple of weeks and you need a hand with it pm me and i'll help out. I've done 3 in the last month now so am getting relatively good at it. Busky2k
I got a 9 puch cushioned ceramic in my 200SX. The 860kg pressure plate feels like stock! I was hoping it would be stronger. The clutch shudders a lil on take off, but it bites when you want it to. It suprisingly has quite a bit of play like an organic. Maybe next time I'll get the 1 tonne pressure plate. But I do recommend this clutch for someone who wants the middle ground between an organic and button style clutch. riggaP
For a heavy duty organic disc kit from horsepowerinabox I've been quoted $425 delivered. Is this a good price? Also, is it worth upgrading the whole kit? I dont want the pedal to be much heavier than stock... SLY33
i bought one of the xtreme ceramic cushioned kits from Tim Poss. back in the RPM day. I think it must be the 9 puck one coz i remember a lot of puks. I was told it would be good for around 220rwkw and i believe its only the 800kg pressure plate. Been running it hard with over 260rwkw for a while now and it will only give up its grip on really harsh near-flatshifting. This is running RE55 tyres also so even more of a challenge for the clutch. All in all never given any problems, and i think if it was going to smash it wouldve by now! I dont have any of the parking problems cubes mentioned either. It used to shudder a little if i treid to ride it, but now its smooth -must be getting low or something. Girlfriend can drive it without stalling it no worries. BiZzReVhEad
just a Quick note.. I thought id add this as im looking possibly for a new clutch soon and have been hovering over this Thread for Weeks like some I rang SAS and they have Quoted $660 for supply of the DCBHD and supply of New flywheel as well $620.44 for the Flywheel . $1280.44 . Is this a reasonable price for this kit ? as im still rather confused here hehe . Do i need the Flywheel ?
