Hi Volume Fuel Pump, Noisy or Normal?

I just installed a GTR Fuel pump in my R33 GTS, Its quite loud, is this normal? I was expecting being a factory GTR pump, it would be quiet.

Im after pump that doesnt make any more noise than a stocky r33 but flows more, any clues?

hmmm walbro pumps aren't too noisy, I can hear it when the stereo is off, but not during general driving really.

I don't know what fuel pump my car has.. but given it's had a complete RB26dett conversion I imagine it's a GTR pump. I can tell you it's loud as anything .

the bosch ones are pretty loud.

have you taken it out?

maybe a serial number will help.

from what ive seen on other cars, a noisy pump means its on its last legs.

Yeha i got a Bosch 044, it makes the humming noise

Robo as Dan said the walbro's are very quite. I hardly notice it, only a slight hum when the stereo is off.

The standard fuel pumps on a GTR run a 2 stage system where at idle they are running low voltage and are kept quiet, and higher voltage/pressure once they get going. For this reason I think you'll find that it'd be loud once youve put it in something else. We bridged my standard pump to run higher voltage all the time and it changed the noise from quiet to loud.

GTR pump that was in mine was extremely loud, i liked it it is like hearing your money burn when the car is ideling lol.
