well stronger internals, stronger gear box, lower compression clutch plate also superior, also the brakes are alot better. i dont think the interior would be much different. but apart from all that

the GT badges are red and white for turbo and green and white for non turbo :)

brakes definately are different... (unsure about gts4)

GTST: 4pot front, twin pot rears - with the NISSAN on the calipers.

GTS: ugly black things :( I dunno what they are - will let you guys know when i do the brake upgrade.

my gts has red gt badges (type-s standard)

and DaGr81 is fairly correct with the other stuff ^^^

Obvious one - tacho assy is different due to no boost gauge......

Yup, red/white badges for Type S NA's, blue/white for non-type S.

Front brakes have 2 pot calipers, rear is single pot for NA, I think the master cylinder is different as well due to the different pot volume. R33 GTS4 uses the same brake setup as the GTS/GTS25.

mines type S and has blue/white badges

lots of topics on this - use the search mate :D

basically:

brakes are better on GTSt

internals are stronger on GTSt

gearbox is stronger on GTSt

better injectors on GTSt

dash is slightly different

wheel hub is 4 stud on NA and 5 stud for GTSt

different exhaust setup due to turbo on GTSt

different ECU

better stock clutch in GTSt

thats about it i think i may have missed somehting though

Non turbo has 4 wheel studs per wheel compared to 5 on the turbo standard rims on turbo are 16" and 15" on non turbo, brakes are a definite difference, just did mine but they are ABS. Final drive ratio (diff) is also different marginally and not always LSD on N/A, the gear box I'm not sure as mine has the same number on the manaufacture plate as a turbo model. Both have HiCas.

mines type S and has blue/white badges

Bah, just when I thought I'd got that one figured out.... I'll fall back to my previous theory then - red badge = sold thru Nissan red stage dealer, blue = blue stage dealer. From what a friend in Japan has told me red stage = performance stuff and blue stage = family/smaller car stuff.

hmm... mine is an NA and has red and white GT badges... also has RB25DET sticker under bonnet..... but is def NA

What does it say on the VIN plate - RB25DET or RB25DE? Where is the sticker you refer to?

mines blue and it aint exactly a family car?

Err, by family car I meant they sell cars like the Maxima, Sunny, Pulsar etc as well, I guess the NA Skylines are the top of the 'family friendly' cars?

I've got blue badges...but my car was sold by the Prince Nissan Dealership?????

I'm not sure where the Prince dealership chains fit with the Blue stage/Red stage thing.

Anyway, tis just a theory....

it could just be a possibility that the previous owner did not like the red badges and

threw on the blue to be more realistic...

blue badges are quite cool though - very rare.

Tehehe, in NZ blue badges on R33's are common as dirt, probably because there seem to be a heap of 2L GTS models around at the moment, they out-number the GTS25T's by probably 3 to 1! And GTS25's by about 100 to 1....

Yeah I prefer the blue, considering my car is blue as well it's looks good

I used to get people staring at it funny though, cause I had blue badges, N/A exhaust, no gauges, yet they could hear the turbo :)...the Big front mount gives it away now though.

    • Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know about an app I use to track the modifications, repairs, servicing etc I do to my R33 GTR. You might like to use it as well. I'm biased because my son just wrote and released it! But I think you might find it useful to... https://trackmymods.com
    • Hey everyone, been on here for a while, but never introduced myself before. 1st import was a R32 GTS Type M, then R33 GTS, now R33 GTR - each one sold to help pay for the next one. Over the years my son has seen me modify and do changes to my imports and was one of the reasons for him to build an app for car enthusiasts like us. (He can only afford a 2007 Honda at the moment, but he'll get there!) Anyway, bit of a proud Dad moment as he's released an app that I use and you all might like to as well. https://trackmymods.com
    • It will sound tragic and you wished you didn't have 1x exhaust per turbo. There's a reason why most S55 owners change to a single mid pipe.
    • Echo the comments about the well preserved condition it's in. It has the aero bumper too for extra points. Nice car, and please keep it like that! 🙂
    • 1. There are no real performance benefits. It sounds different, and as the pipes are not as large diameter you can claw back some undercar clearance or run lower (if that's your thing). 2. Twin pipes, offering exactly the same cross sectional area as a single pipe** will have higher pressure drop - so will not flow as well. That's because there is more surface area of wall per cross sectional pipe area, hence more frictional losses. ** But of course, it is almost impossible to get 2 pipes that are exactly the same XS area as a given typical single pipe. eg, 2x2" is not the same as 1x 3", although it is close. If the 2x pipes add up to less XS area than the single - it will just be flat out worse. If the 2x pipes add up to a bit more than the single, then it might come out as a wash. If the 2x pipes are substantially more XS area than the single, then it will probably flow a little better. 3. No. Why would there be? What have cats got to do with boost creep?*** ***But for f**ks' sake, please run a cat. 4. If you want.
