Ignitor Difference?

Firstly is there a difference between series one and series two coilpack ignitor?

secondly, if so, how do i tell the difference between a series 2 and series one head?

Yep there is a difference - S2 do not run an ignitor, so you will not find a ignitor on the rear of the coil pack cover.

THats weird coz i just asked a guy if he had an ignitor and he said yes but for series 2 only???

I got an enigne here i just dunno whether the head is form series 2 or series 1, in which case i would or wouldnt need an ignitor? Weird

the ignitor is related to the coils you are using and the ECU.. if you have a s2 each coil fires individually from the ecu, rather than the ignitor firing them..

Well how do i tell the difference betwen a series one and series two head. I just bought an incomplete Rb25/30 (for a steal i might add) and i know very little about what head is there, i dont wanna go buying the wrong bits to complete the head.
