Grinding from front somewhere

hi guys,

when i turn the steering wheel while stationary, i here a slight metalic grinding noise which seems to be louder when i first start her up. I also hear it when going around slow corners/roundabouts.

I'm gonna get it checked out next service as there dont seem to be any adverse handling effects, but would anyone be able to offer any insight?

have you checked ur powersteering fluid levels yet?

No... didn't even think about that i was too concerned with it being something bigger! it makes sense too because it only really happens when the car is cold and not "warmed up"... Will check this arvo.

unfortunately, power steering levels are all fine... so i dont know what it is... someone suggested gravel in the brakes...

How bout the actually 'power belt' itself, they can make a high pitchy metallic noise on start up & sometimes while turning. May need re-adjusting.

well i was thinking something like that because when my clutch fan packed it in, i may/may not have adjusted some bolts i was not meant to... i might check it out tomorrow, see what i can see.

any idea how to adjust power steering belt??

i figured out how to adjust the alternator belt... doesnt help me much cos i cant see a similar thingon the other side.

I just noticed the exact same thing happening to my R33.

Can you tell if ajusting the belt helped?

if not what did you do to fix it.
