GTR Long And Short Motors

hi this may sound like a stupid question to all of you skyline enthusiats, but i was wondering what the diffrence bettween a gtr long motor and a gtr short motor is, i am planning to do a rb30/rb26 conversion in my car, ive got 3 rb30's to choose from.. so i was wondering if either the long or short motors will fit the rb30 or it wont matter at all... just need some more info before i get started....

also which one is the better of the two....

a short motor is basicly the bottom end, the block with everything in it.

a long motor has the head bolted on etc.

im not sure if the manolds or other bolt on parts are included.

As said already, short motor is usually just the block with pistons and all that in it, and long motor means it comes with a head etc...

You should speak to whoever will be putting the engine together for you - they should be able to help you out - I'm assuming you're going to put a RB26 head on an RB30 bottom end.

3 stages of motors as I see it. 1) short is from sump to top of the block. 2) Long is sump to top of engine (rocker covers). 3) is a COMPLETE engine, which is from fan to flywheel and includeds injectors and manifolds (but not necessarily the turbo/s).

If you have 3 RB30's Stirlo may be interested in one and Daniel (s13drifter) has the conversion kit for the RB26 head to the RB30 block into a gtr.
