No I've not seen any articles, but people have told me that they could feel the difference once that were put on. I'm sure the inlet into the factory cat is only 2", therefore 3" should flow over twice as much air for the same pressure drop. I'm sure in reality it will only make a little difference, but it is relatively cheap so probably worth doing.

See'ya

on a cat-shops website they may show the difference that THEIR cat SUPPOSEDLY makes

not to be taken seriously though, as I've heard of people calibrating dynos down a couple of notches, taking a reading, putting their item on and then calibrating it back to 0 and showing a whopping increase

I think anything a company posts is bull, and the only way to find out if something really gives a significant increase is finding out general consensus from people in the industry (and not necessarily selling the item (in this case the cat)

I don't think RSPCA will approve you knocking the packing out of your cat... cruelty to animals man! *Geez*

Neither will police or hippies for that matter...

on a more serious note if you do take the packing out of it will that still allow the flames to come out? I would love to be able to have the flames but still be able to have a cat so i don't get busted... Would that be rice?? oh no maybe i shouldn't ask that... not another rice thread :-)

Well I did put a new cat on, just a cheapy but instead of the old factory (90,000km+) with a 2 1/4 inch inlet this has 3inch, the same size as the rest of the pipes.

Difference?

Up top there seems to be a little extra and some more noise from the tail pipe, having said that my car is almost as silent as stock. Most cars I see around idle louder than mine at full scream. :)
