Won't make power properly??

For about a week now my car has lost its pull feeling. whereas it would light the wheels and the gears would seem real short, now it seems to make boost so much slower and no longer holds peak boost. Is this a vacuum leak? Could I have blown the intake gasket? It doesn't have any less vacuum at idle though.

not that i am aware of. I've only had the car on the road for the past 2 weeks, before it started playing up.

Check the cat convertor, its fairly easy to slip out and check if its melted.

yeah reckon the cat converter can cause this? If thats true it could be melted, my car has been known to produce flames at times. but how does that work though?

you cant produce flames from the exhaust with a cat converter it has to be removed.

if you think its a vacum leak at idle get a can of carby clean and spray it in suspect areas and if it is it should pick up in idle?

wanna make a bet about the cat, my car has stock cat in and still does it?

anyway cams are too big to see a drop in vacuum at idle as it produces bugger all vacuum at idle in the first place.

ok, tested the intake for leaks, it has a vert slight leak that sounds like its coming from the head, would that be the air going past the valves that would be slightly open?

problem was resolved by fitting a new cat. Now the problem has returned. Why do i keep on melting cats? how do i stop it? My car is rich too not lean so i'm a bit confused as to how this can happen.

unburnt fuel and carbon from the rich tune hits the cat conveter and due to its high temperature it cloggs the biscuit and melts it..?

makes sense to me.. have you tried a "race cat"?
