These catch cans look a hell of a lot better and more effective than my current setup. gR33ddy, will you be undertaking another group buy of these catch cans, or are they available through you at this price at any other stage soon?

Catch cans are still available.

PM sent.

PM received, my bank account balance is being monitored at the moment to see if I can afford one this week ;)

Possibly a stupid question, but I can't quite grasp the method used to fill the catch tank with steel wool. I read the threads linked to in the first post - how big is the opening underneath that filter if you can stuff baffling into it? Also, was it the pot-and-pan scrubber you use, or hardcore steel wool?

Cheers from a n00b.

The opening is approx. 1cm (inner diameter)

After you have fed the foot of the stocking in, using hardcore steel wool (pulled apart so it is stringy-like), stuff it gently in with the blunt end of a wooden skewer bit by bit. Being carefull to not rip the stocking and after this, tie the stocking(remove excess) and stuff the end in aswell.

It is tedious but is very possible and should be effective.

;)

to work effectivly the inlet should enter the can at the top and and turn down inside to finish up 2 or 3 mm from the bottom. the outlet just goes to the top. can should be filled with stainless steel wool. The ribbon type is best 'cos the flat with sharp edges helps to separate the oil from the air. Oil laden air is released at the bottm of the can and flows UP to the outlet depositing oil on the the wire wool as it goes. Search the for sale thread ...there was a very good one offered for sale a while ago.
