i think the RE040 is one of the very overpriced tyre due to they are "standard" tyre,as most people have no idea about cars told the tyre shop to replace the same tyre, hence they are priced such high.

i qoute re040 for $320 for 16", while MUCH better tyre like G3 only cost $220, i remeber

s-03 is cheaper than RE040 too...

Hi,

I have the 350z wheels on my r34 gtt and have just bought new tyres - I bought Hankook Ventus Sport K104's in the size 235/40ZR18 93Y.

I got them for $240 each fitted. Lots of forum members Oz wide are using these tyres on the street with great results! Prices are very similar from state to state also!

For more info checkout this thread - the are other threads on this tyre also if u do a search :PReview: Hankook Ventus Sport K104

Hope this helps!

Hi where can I get hold of Bridgestone Potenza RE040 tyres?

For 350Z wheels, 235/45/18

Popped a tyre, now just got a quote, $485each!!!(WAT THE F**K)

Anyone else can it get cheaper?

Sydney location would be good..

Thanks

1 odd one is probably not a good idea - but if you change 2 of them either fronts or rears it should be ok, im not sure wich one u have 'popped'.

For the price of 2 Hankooks you could be 1 RE040 :D that sux!

Isnt the 350z 225/45 front and 245/45 rear? which one is stuffed anyway? You may find that prices can be SIGNIFICANLTY different just by a small profile change.

So get yourself a quote on the 2 sizes i mentioned in this post - i am assuming your other 3 are in VERY GOOD nick?

For example I also got a quote for the same hankooks but in the size: 245/35 and these were $305 each! That is VERY pricey for a 45 series tyre - of course I know why they do it though - the same tyre is standard on the RX8 - 225/45/18 RE040, its also the standard tyre on the Mazda SP23 17 inch and Im sure many other cars too.

I think its a case of car manufacturers conspiring with tyre companies :)

Yeah we just had a puncture in one of our rears yesterday as well, buying 2 new tyres as well as (trying) to drive on the spare atm.

Looking to choose between Dunlop SP9000, Dunlop DZ101 and Bridgestone S03.

Won't be putting the Re040s back on, I thought they were pretty crap for the price.

Yeah I did a typo, I'm looking for the rear, 245/45/18, called up Tempe tyres in sydney, their supposed to be pretty cheap.. got the best quote of $450 today each tyre.

I asked what was their cost price, and he said he gets it in for 435. So damn, this is gonna be a hard one.

The bloody tyres on now (Potenza RE040s) are very noisy, i dont know if its the tyres or alignment. but i dont dig it one bit
