Hey guys,

I noticed last night that for the first time, when my car was cold, when I took my foot off of the clutch (quickly - when it was in neutral in the garage) there was a metalic sound coming from it - like metal hitting metal. Doesn't seem to impact performance at all, just don't know what it was from

My ute makes a noise when i do the same thing, however it dosn't have to be cold. I've been told it's the through out bearing on the clutch. Ofcorse holden and Nissan are a world apart.

p.s i carn't spell for dog's balls, if you haven't guess.

yeah mine does the same. IT happens all the time but as soon as any slight pressure it put on the clutch it goes away. I've been told by numerous people it's the thrust bearing..nothing major.

If u find u have to put the clutch all the way in to get rid of the sound it could be something different

Well, the metallic sound only happens sometimes (40% I guess) and the sound is louder the faster I take my foot off of the clutch.

There is another sound, a squeaky sound, which occurs 99% of the time. When I depress the clutch slightly it goes away. Was told that may be the thrust bearing.

Also, when under pressure (acceleration) sometimes my gears crunch almost like I havn't put the clutch in at all. I've been told it may be a leaking master cylinder.

If it sounds like a metal whirring noise then it's likely to be the thrust bearing, i've worn out 2 in 2yrs. The annoying think is I believe they are a $20 part although it doesn't take much longer to throw in a new clutch so I just put up with it.
