I've been saving up to get the Datalogit software and noticed that the Apexi Power Excel software has become available for sale on the nengun website. I've heard that it's the software used by the Apexi Dealers to tune the PFC.Has anyone used both programs to be able to give a comparison of the two ??? I have not seen anything on the excel software. Can the excel software log data ???

I have the power excel software and the datalogit software. Send us a PM with your email and I send you zips of both. The power excel software is in japanese and is a bit useless unless you can read japanese. The datalogit seems great and has all the same features it looks like. Perhaps someone who had used both could comment

power excel software is available in english, and the legit version that comes with the Power FC Pro is dual language so you can use it in english if you want.

If cost is your concern, then get an old Power FC, build the interface using the schematic Doughboy posted up, and then use the power excel software. Datalogit is just a english version of it in my opinion, there was nothing that it offered that was better than the power excel software.

With the DIY interface module you can't use the hand controller unless you reprogram a chip on it, however you can use a normal hand controller when the module is unplugged (why you'd wanna use a hand controller when you can use a laptop, is beyond me).

From my understanding the PowerFC has 2 maps.. The Base map that is modified only by the software then the higher level map that is modified by the hand controller.

It states in the manual if you do big cam and turbo changes you will have to use the software as the handcontroller won't do whats required?!?!

Whats with that? load of crock? :)

shan is there an english version of the software for the normal power fc. I asked nengun and the one they sell as the power excel package is japanese software. Brent didnt make any mention of english software. If it came with english software Id probably buy the kit

I was told by the distributors for the PFC Pro in japan that the ones they're slating for sale in the US/UK will come with english software.

I've converted most of the "underground" software to english anyways, and that's what I use. It seems to me that datalogit is just a front end for this software.

is there anyway i could be sure that the power excel bundle that nengun sells is in english? id hate to order it and it comes in japanese only. could you source an english version from somewhere other than where nengun gets it from?

as I said it was supposed to be only available outside of japan, and I don't know when that's gonna be. You're best bet would be to get nengun to find out for you the details on the software that comes with the package.

I don't really want to be sourcing PFC's etc for people as I don't want the hassles of dealing with warranties, delivery and other issues that nengun solves. I can however as for more details from the distributors. Will post it up when I talk tot hem next.

I have used Datalogit on 2 X RB26DETT's, 3 X RB25DET's, 1 X RB20DET, 4 X SR20DET's and 1 X RB31DET and I have never had a problem doing everything I wanted to do. It's in English on screen (well Kiwi Inglush anyway) , it has a reasonably comprehensive English manual, the interface is quite user friendly, updates are available and it supports parrallel use with the Commander.

Plus (as its name implies) it logs data, very usefull for finding problems, localisiing sensor issues and going faster. An example, I used a Datalogit session to improve a quarter mile run by coaching the driver on clutch and throttle usage for a better launch.

Someone asked why have Commander? Well for me it replaces many gauges and it is rather hard to drive around reading the lap top screen (on the passengers seat) all the time. I haven't found a big enough piece of velcro to attach my laptop to the dash.

To answer another question, the Datalogit gives access to some correction tables and switches that you can not get to with the Commander. I haven't found anything that the Commander gets access to that the Datalogit doesn't.

Hope that is of some help:cheers:

FC-Datalogit offers Anti-Lag... If oyu like flames and lound Bang Bang noises this is a plus..

I ahve FC-Datalogit, mostly for the logging functionality as I use it to tune other non PFC items in my car and measure difference in modifications.

Paul,

thanks a lot for the files and thankyou everyone else for the feedback. I wrote to Nengun over the weekend with regards to the Excel software. Nengun only has the japanese software. So the data logit stuff is it for me then. Have have a look now how much and where.

Hi Guys,

I have had a massive influx of private messages asking for the software. Let me put up what I know so that others who want the software know how to use it etc. Whilst I don't mind sharing it all it wont work without the required cables (dongle cable). Sure its great to look so then you can make in informed decision such as the fc edit, like once you see and have a play then you can decide if u wanna buy it or not. Same with the FC Pro, have a fiddle then decide if its worth it or not. I've found both copies of the software on the web so its no big deal I guess

Paul,

Could you upload it here? It also contains all the manuals.

    • I believe there was a similar one posted by @duggyphresh. They were re-routing their battery positive cable in the way I am also trying to achieve. Sorry, I’m new to this forum, so was a bit late to the party by a few months and so reignited the old thread, as I wanted to know how they got on with doing it.
    • Wasn't there a thread on this very subject just a few weeks ago?
    • Hi all! Looking to relocate the battery to the trunk of an R34 GTT. I want to do it using as many stock GTR components as I can (including the harness protectors from the 34 GTR that run underneath along the chassis to the engine bay). So far I’ve purchased the battery tray from a 33 GTR, as the captive weld nuts are already there just asking to be used. There is also the slight issue of now having to relocate the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU, which in GTT’s sits right above where the battery will then sit on the tray. Has anyone already achieved this, and if you have any pics that you wouldn’t mind sharing? It would be great to see how others have done it and where you put them, as there are countless holes in the parcel shelf panel to potentially use. Just trying to get some ideas bounced around, and to help uncover any potential problems I may encounter by  my choice of location. TIA for any help!
    • Brand was ard.   I also threw a brand new battery at it and beefed up the wire from the alternator to battery and added an extra earthing point from the battery
