Just curious as to the effects of compression braking with turbos?

Does the exhaust pressure spike when you come off the clutch?

A bit like a two stroke i guess?

Would the waste gate just dump excess pressue?

And can you use engine braking as much as an engine with hi compression or do you lose some of that?

Compression braking is no problem at all, the exhaust pressure will only just be a bit higher than idling exhaust pressure (if you are off the throttle). The engine will be turning faster than idle - more fuel will be burnt so the pressure will be higher.

The wastegate will be closed when compression braking.

I cant see how the exhaust pressure would get anywhere close to the pressure when at full throttle and high RPM, it is burnt fuel that creates 99.999% ?? percent of the exhaust pressure - not the pumping action of the engine.

When you take away the fuel an engine is just a pump with a compression stroke.

u totally missed the joke...

Well don't I feel like a dickhead,

I prolly watched that movie 20 times when it came out as well :D

I have to edit my first post to remove all evidence of my chumpness,
