Hi Cav. I had the same problem and was told the compressor failure was most likely the TX valve which is a small plastic thingy. Did the run around of trying to source a second hand one but ended up replacing the whole system, compressor, TX valve, Dryer unit and regas costing $1000. I know it's alot but worth it to me. At least i have peace of mind that the whole system is all good now. I had the chance to buy a second hand compressor that came out of a car with 40000 ks on it but the guy at the aircon place said he was happy to fit it but has seen compressors cark it on cars with 10000 ks on them. So i think in the long run it was worth going fully reconditioned.
