At my first drag day with 190rwkw and crappy street tyres I started the day at 14.1 and progressively dropped it down to 13.8. I don't think the tyres were much of an issue because I wasn't getting wheelspin off the line very often (about 3 or 4 times out of 30 odd runs).

I will next time have somewhere between 210 and 240 rwkw and can bring some RE55 semi slicks if you guys think it will help.

Also, since my car is an auto/tiptronic (and for those wondering yes I am quicker changing manually than just putting it in 'D', I tested it) I am putting in and will have for the next drag day a new valvebody which is supposed to slam into gears at full throttle. The guy making it for me expects at least 1/2 a second from this mod alone.

Given the power range I have listed above, can you guys estimate an ET range for me?

Thanks.

Thanks mate. That's what I'm aiming for. :) 12.9999999999999

btw Do you guys find this sort of question annoying. I guess it's in the same vane as 'how much power will I get' but slightly different because an ET is an ET whereas different dynos read different things.

I will, I will. I'm just trying to ascertain the likelyhood of qualifying if I go to Drag Combat or something like that.

The Drag Combat website has ****all info on it and I'm interested but don't want to waste my time if all that happens is I do 2 runs, fail to qualify then sit out the rest of the day.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but is it worth running at Drag Combat if you're in the mid to low 13's? I'm kinda in the same boat as Abo Bob on this as I'm keen to have a go at DC, but don't want to be embarrassed if the majority of cars I'd be competing against are of sub 12sec potential...

Personally i'd suggest doing afew wed nite street meets before going to a proper weekend meeting. Just incase something goes slightly wrong on its first outing and you drop oil all over the track ruining it for the big dollar professional guys. But then again, you said you've done 30 runs so you're not exactly a first timer.

The amount of nimwits at the last few proper drag meetings that have absolutely no fricken idea how to stage is just insane. I seen 2 guys stage last nite (street meet) with their front wheels inline with the tree and they kept moving forward coz the lights weren't coming on haha obviously they went straight to the track without even spectating once or twice.

Anyway back on topic, I think a 12 would certainly be on the cards. But then again with the power you (and myself) have we should already be into the low-mid 13's so you would think a mid-high 12 would be on the cards with 220-240rwkw. The other thing is the more power you have the easier it would be to make a mistake and the higher chance of having problems with launches etc.

Seeya at the track :P

Well it's funny you should mention wednesday nights because up until a couple of weeks ago I've had a permanent wednesday night booking which has stopped me turning up. It's stopped now so when the car is running again I think I'll go one night.
