I'm looking at buying an R33 GTS25t in the next week or so, and The person I'm buying from is interstate, so I'll only really get one chance to go over the car and decide yes or no. The import papers for the car indicate "upgraded" Turbo, Computer, and a few other bits. Now some are obvious like BOV, Pod filter, Strut brace etc, but is there an easy way to identify non-factory computer bits, and a different/modded Turbo? Where should I be looking?

Also, it's an Mspec and has the orginal Mspec body kit, but apart from the fibreglass, are there any other differences between a regular GTS25t and an Mspec?

Also, one more thing (for now hehe)

What does the standard exhaust look like? Is it duel/single pipe and what OD? This car has a large bore duel into one muffler system that looks (from the pix) like 2, 2 or 2.5" pipes into one large SS muffler, import papers say its an aftermarket Trust job fitted in Japan. I'd like to confirm that this is actually what it is, and that it wont need replacement right away to relaese some more kw.

Cheers

Daz,

Classic sign of an aftermarket turbo is a missing heat sheild or modified one. Most aftermarket turbos are of course larger than standard and thus require the factory heat sheild to be removed.

Assuming you know where the turbo is on the passenger side of the engine it would be fairly easy to spot. Piping/seals etc maybe also be different, ie not the typical 2.5 inch black factory pipework

M spec simply means turbo model.

Standard Exhaust is a largish muffler with dual tips (small) normally with a chromed surround over the tip in an attempt to make them look good

Hope this helps..

Nick
