Ok.....well there has been alot of talk of swaybars in a couple of threads. Whether they fit from s13 etc. I have never got a definate answer that they do ...except for the rear. GTR Ben informed us in another thread that the front s13 doesnt fit.

Well i have emailed whiteline about whether we can get them made up . Peter from whiteline emailed back and said that we can but they need a car to model it off etc. They can just have a bar ...but they would prefer a drivable car. I am finding out how long they need it for and whether the prices will be the same etc..

Depending on how long they need the car ( have to take it to whiteline in minto) i might offer mine ....mine is a daily driver and need it to get to work...and minto is about an hours drive from me .....so could be a problem

any way this thread is just to inform u guys and see how many people might be interested. Nothing definate at the moment.

Alex

FYI

there are a few A31s in this buy I noticed as well -

Seem to be coming from Whiteline too so it might be worth investigating if we can mention to whitelines we're from the same buy - seems to make up the number nicely :)

Especially seeing that whiteline would make it up, sell it to us, and them off a car we provided.

yea saw that post and asked the guy who was organising it and trying to find out whether the s13 front swaybars fitted for it. I asked him whether they would work and he wasnt sure....and never got any extra response from him.

when i get home from work i should know how much and how long they need the car etc ...

from peterat whiteline 'G'day Alex,

Initially we would like a car for a couple of days. This will enable bar sizes/design work to be undertaken so we can produce matched bars to balance up the chassis. Any further development may be possible at a later stage dependent upon predicted production numbers etc.

Pricing would remain consistent with similar products and a Group buy price would be available for a buy of 10 or more items. '

ok so they will need a car for a few days ....too_much_boost expressed interest volunteering his car...do u still want to do this?

And if we can set a group buy then we prob can get em cheaper aswell

I can give you all a DEFINITIVE answer on this..........the S13 whiteline blade adjustable swaybars DO fit onto cefiros' and Laurels. I know this for a fact because i have fitted them myself.

I know that there has been alot of confusion as to fitment of these items.....so i decided to "bite the bullet" and purchase some whiteline swaybars and hope for the best.........it worked out i was right.

A friend of mine also removed an aftermarket swaybar from his cefiro and swapped it for an item from an S13 (front) it bolted up perfectly.

I hope this helps all of you out. Perhaps somebody could put this information as "sticky" for other cefiro/Laurel enthusiasts.?

the only thing i have been thinking about is that the s13 ones were made for the s13 ....with either ca18 or sr20 in them ....cefiros are different with a heavier eng etc .... will they perform as well.

im not too fussed on this though ...just thought i would bring it up....

Riverside.. they are not exactly the same.. and a S13 silvia bar will not fit a S13 with an RB motor.. thats where the problem is. The sump hits. With a 4 cyl motor, no problems at all!

I have pictures showing the difference if you really want me to upload them all etc.

The A31 bar from a 6 Cyl powered car has a much larger portion at the front to clear the sump.

I hope this is clear?

If someone could demo there A31 (WITH A RB MOTOR) for whiteline I would be very happy. They probably still have my spare A31 Swaybar and links.. if they havn't throw it out.

If someone is sorting something out, give me an email.

Thanks,

Ben

Riverside, I just looked at the other post and noted you have a RB motor.

Hmm, odd. Maybe the whiteline bars clear a little more, maybe the aussie Cefiro's are slightly different.. who knows.

My engine is also lowered 15mm so this doesn't help.

I may have another loook with the Whiteline bar. (I have a whiteline CA18 27mm adjustable front bar) maybe this is the problem. How different are the SR20 bars?

Maybe this is the problem I am having? If you have fitted a SR20 Whiteline bar to your A31 with RB motor and it fits though, I will take your work for it :P

In theory the S13 with RB SHOULD be the same as A31 with RB........but i can not confiently comment on that as i do not own an rb S13.

I have fitted the whiteline swaybars to BOTH RB and SR powered A31's and C33's.........without any issues, The RB powered A31 had the sump sitting quite close to the bar bt it did NOT touch. (I simply asked for the largest blade adjustable swaybars available for S13, so i am unsure if i have CA or SR items, i doubt the aftermarket items are different anyway)

I imagine that the lowering of your engine may be the main issue.

Thanks Riverside.

Well I know for a fact with my engine the Stock S13 bar doesn't fit with my RB engine lowered etc. The sump was resting on the bar when I installed the engine..

Maybe you have the SR20 Whiteline bar and it allows more clearance. Whiteline do supply a CA and SR S13 bar.
