I didnt think anyone pushed in? A pity they hadnt just kept going and done the last two cars BEFORE lunch, but its not their fault your tuner went home. It was more a social event than a tuning tool anyway :)

Piccies here: http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....=7&getevent=yes

And some more here:

*EDIT: As per Wills advice, moved them to http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=74316

Oh and where are your pics Will, I know you took them. Arty ones too, holding the camera at all sorts of angles.

Well at least i found out that there is a problem and am not going to damage anything now, so turned out good in that respect.

And plenty of people bought lanyards, got to try on the SAU jackets to work out sizing, got to SEE the jackets, got free BBQ, got to admire Will's cappacino engine (as jason said.. "is that a cappa motor in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?") and most importantly, got to socialise with a few SAU peeps :)

unfortunatly someone jumped the que when i was told they were stopping for lunch.

other than that the day went smoothly i thought, thanks to everyone who turned up and made the day a success.

highest power figure went to a r32 gtr with somewhere in the vicinity of 250awkw. im japtaxi will post the official photograph of the score board later tonight

32VSP got 259awkw I think? Highest of the day too, although Belgarion came close. And Jasons C210 was only a whisker behind that (chortle).

damn.. that's very impressive... any idea on mods?

Warwick, just for you :)yc2np3.jpg

Glen, it was a fresh engine I know that much. I think I heard dirk say something about GTR N1 Turbos. The cars just had a full rebuild and has only done 900 odd kms before being put on the dyno. VERY nice looking engine as well.

Terry, I'm very sorry you had a bad day but I hope no one else did. I'm resigned to the fact that my car does 193rwkw seeming it's consistently done this 3 times now :)

thanks Erin.

that is still a very impressive figure for all 4 wheels. Congrats to the owner. It has setup a new benchmark for me :aroused:

    • I am currently going this route. I am curious how much horse power you put behind the cut bell housing? Collins was telling me I am going to crack it and bluh bluh bluh. Because I didn’t buy the custom fly wheel from him. I am looking for somewhere around like 500 hp
    • Forgot to mention that these are the before pics when I first got it!
    • Thanks @PranK for the updated member status, much appreciated! 👍🏼 Now, about those pics… Unfortunately I could only find ones that I took in the dark. I was soon to discover that underneath it wasn’t in the best shape, but it was mine and that’s all I cared about at the time 😆
    • Oh, and only having done this task yesterday, I've now driven the car ~60km since, and while it is hard to avoid placebo effect and confirmation bias, I reckon that some annoyances I had with the way the car has been behaving have improved. Which....kinda makes sense, I guess. If the bushes were really stiff and resisting rotation, they would have been contributing to the effective wheel rate. And if it was more so on one side (which it was, because one side was worse than the other) then.... you might imagine that the additional rate would be asymmetric, and potentially even different between compression and rebound. And so... the car has been twitchy at higher speeds - like freeway on ramps. It really shouldn't be. The wheel alignment is good and there are no (other) known problems elsewhere in the suspension. But at 90-100 on a long sweeping ramp, tiny steering wheel motions would make it feel like it wanted to rear steer. Quite nervous. At lower speeds it would heave about in a manner that it didn't use to. Didn't want to put power down, etc etc. Now...seems to behave better. Am going to have to concentrate on the various corners where it has exhibited weirdness, on the rare occasions when I can get a decent run at them without Methanial getting in the way in his D-Max/Ranger/LDV Van/etc.
