My experience - I've been with Shannon's since I was 19 and had a 10sec VL modded to the max. Regardless, I shop around every year for a quote and they are always the cheapest and they actually have plausible excesses. From what I've seen they don't care what car or mods you have or whether it is an import. Customer service has always been exemplory. And the older guys have been the ones who help the most. Must be some other reason why they knocked you back.

Actually no - that was the beginning of the conversation.

I've been insured with them before - they loved to insure my '69 351 Falcon for CHEAPPPPPPPP when I was younger..

I didn't even get to tell them my driving record (which is where most companies start to laugh and tell me politely to bugger off).

Shannons are the best by far!!!!!!!!!

I pay under $100 a month on a low k policy & have quite a few mods...

Just Car Insurance basically said they could only insure me 4 third party when i informed them of new paint job..so i went straight 2 Shannons & nothing was a problem @ all

i had a cover note with Shannons a few years ago, but ended up going with Suncorp cos it was cheaper... might get another quote next time mines up, see what they can do.

I don't know if it's still the same but you had to get a Brant immobiliser to get insured with them.

Shannons are insurance for the Motor Enthusiast. They have the same parent company as Just Cars.

I have had a member who was 21yrs old at the time insured by Shannons for a 2004 STI with us. If you mention you are from a car club there is a better chance they will insure you. Better if they know of the car club too not "West Side Speed Demons" .. I just made that up.
