I mount the oil pressure and oil temperature sensors in the remote filter mount.

don't want to go too off topic here, but can the oil pressure sensor be tapped where the filter mount is, or must it be taken at the pressure switch? I know that the oil temp sensor can be attached here.

cheers,

Chris.

Yep, anywhere in the oil supply system that is under pressure:cheers:

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I need to know where oil flows.

When mouting a remote filter, which goes to the sump, and which goes from the pump? The filter has the inside (1.5mm guesstimate hole) and the outside.

Should I be going;

outside off engine --> outside on filter --> to cooler

or

inside off engine --> inside on filter --->Cooler

This image says it should go from the outside to the outside, then inside to the cooler.

I know the pic isn't exactly the same as my setup, but the oil flow should be the same?

Is this correct?

Cheers

Chris

To make it easy, your oil cooler/relocator kit should have in/out specified on the part which mounts where the filter used to be. Its simply just a matter of matching the out of that to go to the in of the remote filter side of things. the out of the filter side of things goes to the cooler, and the other side of the cooler goes to the in of the kit mounted on hte block

Not sure if that made sense ?

I have had mine backwards in the past as I did it the wrong way round. To tell just touch the oil cooler after a drive and it should be quite warm. Mine was cold hence telling me that the oil wasn't flowing. Switched the hoses and away we went.

i am going to purchase a oil cooler soon, and wondering: If the cooler is mounted so that both hoses are entering from the top... wouldn't this mean oil would be stuck the cooler when changing out the oil?

Hence i am thinking of mounting the cooler "upside down" so the hoses enter from this bottom (if this makes sense).... This way i can just unscrew the hoses and let the oil drain out...

IS there anything wrong in my thinking?

Mine is mounted with the hoses at the top, and yes about a litre remains when I do an oil change, but its a race car and gets changed all the time so I don't worry about it
