being ball bearing... if one fails it'll need a new cartridge generally, and sometimes an new comp cover.

Which all added up etc will be over $1200 without a drama if the comp went as well.

If not around the $1100-$1200 non-trade

Thanks guys, I just bought a HKS2535 as well second hand and was just considering a worst case scenario of rebuilding it, i rang ATP and was told that if it needed a full rebuild then it would be the cost of a new turbo which doesnt seem right to me...

Ill appreciate if you could let me know what the prices are... I have the turbo but i think ill have to take it to the tuner and see what they think... fingers crossed all is fine and she makes some good numbers!

$600 for a ball bearing?

i doubt that very much. Or do you just mean that parts themselves?

Mine was 1k falt, that was a new cartridge and everything that comes with it

Also had to machining the comp cover as the bearing collapse caused the wheel to mark the housing, lucky it wasnt too severe

Then it had too be balanced etc. Mine was close to trade also

went around today to see if my turbo is rebuildable

Since my turbo suffered oil starvation most of the shops think there's not much chance that it can be fixed.

The alternative is buying a complete new cartridge from GCG or some other shop over east.

A few shops seem to think there's still a chance it could be fixed depending if the bearing casing is damaged or not. If the bearing casing is damage then I would need a new cartridge if not, depending on condition of shaft and the compressor/turbine blade fixing it range between 500-900
