Okay,

My coil packs have died for a second time, it's misfiring again on 9-10psi.

I need a way to PROPERLY diagnose them, they are series2 coils if that helps.

The old 0.7ohm's between pin A and C means nothing as they all read a perfect 0.7ohms. So that theory is out of the question.

Does anyone know a RELIABLE way to check which one is shagged ?

Get a set of known working coils and put 5 of them in (with 1 original coil). Then work your way down from their until it starts missing again.

That's what I did although I used electrical tape instead of fresh coils. In the end just bite the bullet and get a set of Splitfires

benm's right on the mark. I could never get a failed coil to register and different resistance to a known good one. After doing the substitution caper a few times, I just ended up going with the Splitfires. They are now coming down in price and they really do make a difference.

Do what benm says mine kept on going one by one, did 4 of them before I got a set a spitfires, should have done it sooner and saved some money.

There only about $600 direct from japan for the set, rather than about $300 each from nissan and about another 10rwkw some people believe.

3 of mine died at the same time, 2 more badly than the other one.

you can see quite easily which one it is by taking the cover off and watching them in the dark while the car it hot, you can see blue flashes as the spark arcs to the metal frame surrounding the coil..

try that method, it worked fine for me.

and in the end even after aralditing which did not work, i got spitfires.

they have been in since friday and the problem is gone, plus performance is more responsive, i dunno about much more outright power though(like 10rwkw!), it feels like only a little bit when compared to before the coils started dying.
