Hey guys, wanting to import a car as i have a few mates who know how to do the paper work and all that sort of thing, r u able to get access to the auctions in Japan or can you only do that through a car importer? Are you able to pay a small fee somewhere so you can search yourself and do the paper work yourself and not pay $1000 + for a car importer to do it? Hope that makes sense.

Somewhere along the line you are going to need t pay someone to purchase the vehicle on your behalf.........unless you wanna fly to japan and TRY to get into the auctions.

Are their places who can buy the car on your behalf and you are able to do all the paperwork? Or are you stuck with paying an import car dealer the $1000+ fee?

yeah there are places..

you have to pay 50000yen for down payment on the car before you can bid at auctions tho.. and you deal directly with the people in japan (however they can speak english)
