Howdy,

I recently installed a bov on the skyline and now I can hear a 'sucking' noise when accelerating. Its a bit weird - it basically sounds like the car is leaking air while its trying to suck it into the engine. I got an exhaust and pod filter installed at the same time and I have to say the performance of the car has barely changed. The power delivery is smoother now, but there is no noticable change in the amount of grunt. Not the result I was hoping from from those mods. I initially though the sound was from the pod filter but its quite strange not to get any power hikes, plus its very easy to hear from inside the car.

Is it possible the bov was installed incorrectly? The guy who did it was definately not a skyline specialist (long story) and I have a feeling he really didnt know what he was doing...

Regards,

Steve

the sound you hear is probably from the Pod filter, its much louder than the factory airbox.

The standard BOV's had a sucking whistle while the car was on boost, but that was just the way it was designed.

The sucking noise is your POD filter... All PODS suck air under throttle

its actually just the sucking sound of the turbo...

but now that you have removed the airbox (replaced it with a pod) there is no baffling of the sound, and thus it is easier to hear the sucking sound

:P
