hello all.

i am about to import a R32 GTR with a R33 GTR N1 spec engine in it. Now, from what i've seen, the import sheet says the engine is 400 ps claimed. Now this works about to be about 295 kw's according to a converter i have found. Anyone know for sure??

Anways, i need some1 to tell me what the difference between an N1 engine is to a standard one? I've searched google but am struggling to find any specs. Links would be good if anyone has found any.

Cheers in advance guys,

Regards,

Shaun

is this the car that was listed for sale in the for sale section ?

Hi,

i've checked the first four pages of the for sale section and it's none of the GTR's listed, the one i'm getting is white. Also, this car is still in Japan.

Do a search on this site, quite a few differences main one being stronger bottom end.

Hi,

I've searched the site a number of times typing different keywords, and all i've got is threads which mention N1 turbos, parts, etc etc, but not engine specs. If you have links to direct threads, that'll be a great help.

Regards,

Shaun

hmm ok the thread must have been deleted because a guy had it up for sale and then others were asking if it was the same one that was offered on the jspec website. or something :P

and it was white.

anyhow ... sounds like a fun car !! :D

also...

yeah 400ps is probably around about 400kw which is also around about 300-odd horsepower.

and the N1 engines i think have oil cooler from factory, also slightly bigger turbos than standard. not sure bout the internals though.

400ps is 394hp which is 294kw...

What I know of the N1 engine is stronger engine block (extra webbing), stronger pistons, steel wheel turbos instead of ceramic, higher pressure oil pump, and modified water pump so it doesnt caveat at continuous high rpm (which in turn doesnt make it so crash hot for standard daily driving so ive heard).

hmm, that sounds interesting... mainly because i am purchasing this car from J-Spec... so it must be the same one then. Is there a way to view deleted threads or something? I'm a bit curious now, especially since J-Spec were unable to get in contact with the seller to see if it was still available **confused**

Thanks for the reply amaru. Sounds like a pretty solid engine... but gtr engines are pretty solid in the first place :P

hmm, i've just tried pming Blitz but his inbox is full and he has to clear some in order to recieve my pm! :goddam:

anything else i can do?

LH side of the block, under the turbos, is a number cast into the block about 1/2 way down which reads 05U. That is a std block, N1 should read 24U

Cheers

Ken

ta man, it will be the first thing i look for when/if i get it.

ohh i have n1 engine in my gtr i beleive. i should check up on this. the auction sheet wasn't too clear as to what was changed.

but i had a reported 580ps.. or there abouts.

n1 turbos can support up to 300-350kw?? true someone??

so i guess if you have the right gear you can probably make near 400kw at wheels.

:spank:

Holla, yep i removed that thread as it was getting nasty, it turns out the thread starter actually posted photos of the wrong car, so naturally people wondered why he was advertising a car that J-Spec still had listed as $18k and available, for $35k.
