Hi Everyone.

I finally picked up my R32 GTR yesterday (I bought it during April 2004!) after it failed Regency once, but didn't even get home!!! At the bottleshop the guy noticed coolant leaking and I then realised the engine temp was hot, hot, hot. I had only done 20km of peak-hour traffic driving.

Anyway...

I need to find someone to refit all the lovely goodies which had to be taken off to get through Regency, and the car needs a service and tune. I did a search and saw that Shaun from Boost Worx is highly regarded. I'll give him a call today. Any other places worth checking out?

Thanx

Before you go ahead and pay a workshop ~$70.00 per hour to put all your goodies back on, have a read through the DIY forum and see what you can do yourself.

I paid a certain workshop a lot of money when I first got my car and ended up getting bills for $100.00 to REMOVE window tinting, $100.00 to change the glass in my side mirrors, etc.

It's more rewarding to work on your car yourself, plus you'll no doubt get defected again - so it's good to learn now for next time.

I would also not recommend taking your car to a performance workshop to be serviced. A standard mechanic can do an equal job at around half the cost. You just need to find a trustworthy mechanic.

For tuning and performance work, I'd recommend Shaun at Boostworx.

I live about 20kms south of the city. I'm a bit intimidated by the RB26 engine bay as it is completely new to me, and this car has several mods. The stuff that needs to go back on include:

HKS EVC boost controller

Field electronic torque controller

Billion variable fan controller

Defi stepmaster gauges and controller

GReddy turbo timer

Radar detector (don't know if this will work here)

GREX oil cooler

and the climate control switches need to be refitted in the glove box (to make way for the other bits listed above).

I will check out the DIY forum though.

dunno yet. I've only driven the car 20km in peak hour traffic and haven't played with all its toys yet (plus most are in a box atm). The car has switches for fan speed below the stereo, and a Billion computer as well. When everything is back in and I've had a chance to play around I'll let you know.
