R33 4 door tailshaft longer than the 2 door?

I was under the impression the 4 door was a little longer. Is this true.?

I'm just trying to source a 2nd hand one as mine has a fault

The only thing longer about the sedan is the boot is about 100mm longer than the coupe, the wheel base, etc is the same as the coupe. I replaced the tailshaft on my sedan a couple of weeks ago, sourced one from Just Jap. They assured me the coupe tailshaft and sedan tailshaft were identical. Sure enough, it all bolted up no problems.

So you have a sedan? That's good to hear it shares the same wheelbase and tailshaft.

Yup, for a while I had a sedan and coupe GTST and GTR, now I just have the 33 GTR and 33 series 2 sedan . Great cars, won't get rid of the sedan for anything!

Cool. Yeah just checked your photos out. Looks nice. The sedan is pretty practical. Mines only a series 1 but I like it.

So the R34 cooler went in ok?? Did it pretty much bolt up? Did you feel any power/torque difference just from the cooler?

Did just jap supply you one in good condiition? Was yours causing vibration? Mine is!

I checked the wheelbase in the manual - sure enough you're right!!

The 34 cooler bolted straight in, its a fair bit larger. The only problem I had was refitting the inner guard, cause the 34 cooler hangs a fair bit lower it was a VERY tight squeeze but it all went in. I actually did think I could feel a little bit of difference but honestly it was prolly just me wishing it to be faster, not really sure. I will be dropping it on the dyno soon, that will tell me for sure .

I had the same problem, a bad vibration at hwy speeds. The centre bearing was pretty average and the tailshaft had taken a bit of a bump at some time. The one Just Jap supplied was fine, was pretty clean and it fixed my problem, runs nice and smooth now. I think it was about $295ish ??? I fitted it myself, took about 45mins.

So did you have to remove the exhaust first?

Was it hard to do in the garage..i.e jacking the car up enough. Di you first jack it from under the diff?

I put the car up on stands, plenty of room then and nice and safe. I didn't remove the exhaust although it would have prolly made it easier.
