ticking sound on the distributor

i get a ticking sound on the distributor when i just start the car in the morning, and goes away

when the engine has warmed up..this started when i added fully synthetic oil on the engine.

.would this have to do anything with it?

I think all the ceffies in Australia are EFI.

I have never seen a cefiro with a distributor........but you probably get different stuff to us.

My first thought is that the problem is the lifters.

yeah id agree it could be that the new oil youve put in is to heavy on winter start or its telling you youve got oil pressure troubles and your lifters are running unprotected for a few seconds.

id be thinking about perhaps dilluting your current oil with somthing a bit thinner on cold starts...

my commodore used to do it if the oil wasnt topped right up and the oil was too thick
