Stolen And Recovered?

hey guys im new to this site and i need to ask a question thats quite important and hard to find out.

i've found a r33 gtr that somebody was selling that had been previously stolen and recovered, what issues do i need to know that relate to police? and its road worthyness and how do i check if everything is cleared and legitimate??

the tags were missing and the car has been reported as he said u get a police file number?

its confusing so what do i need to know abt this issue

in NSW you can get the RTA do do a REVS check on it... they will then advise you of any problems... don't know about other states, but i'm sure there'd be similar facilities in place...

gonna be kinda hard when the car is missing seats and a clutch lol

get what numbers you can find and call revs..

they make sure the car can be registered and if theres any money owing on it, if it's stolen etc... theres prolly a website if you search for it... should tell you what they can do and what you need to know etc...

pretty easy, enter the vin and engine number and do a check

i wouldnt touch a car that has been stolen

it will have received a horrible horrible thrashing

i remember years ago a mates cordia turbo (beautiful condition) got taken

recovered on the same day and was never the same again

very sad
